Metalworkers: 59 per cent in favour of performance-related pay
In order to secure higher pay, 59.4 per cent of metalworkers would be willing to link part of their pay to the company’s performance, and 69 per cent would like the collective agreement to be partly national in scope, but with a high degree of autonomy for individual companies. These are the key findings of a survey carried out by Community Media Research on behalf of Federmeccanica. The study also reveals that, in order to keep their jobs, 71 per cent of Italian blue-collar workers would be willing to carry out tasks other than their usual ones, and 78 per cent would accept greater flexibility in working hours and shifts.
