An interesting survey carried out by Cmr \u2013 Intesa Sanpaolo for *La Stampa* highlights how Italians are thoroughly fed up with politics and that the majority of citizens are still undecided as to whether or not to vote in the upcoming national elections. This idea of not voting is criticised by around 35 out of every 100 Italians. Very few, indeed, given the controversies of the same calibre that always emerge in the run-up to elections. The view that all parties are the same is held by many, and from there it is a very short step to a general disinterest in politics and in the meaning (and right) to vote. Only 35.7 per cent of Italians fully identify with a particular cause or party \u2013 coincidentally, almost the same percentage who consider it unacceptable not to vote.
