This is the view of Daniele Marini, a native of Vicenza and lecturer in sociology at the University of Padua.<\/p>\n<p>The chronic ailment of Italian politics \u2013 the switching of allegiances in Parliament \u2013 is currently in an acute phase. What is causing this?<br \/>\nThere are many reasons for this, but they all boil down to one: we still do not have a stable political system. Since the Tangentopoli scandal, there has been a continuous process of the parties breaking up and reforming.
