Research on the Verdi Theatre in Pordenone: \u2018Media(t)tore of the region\u2019 Lessio: \u2018Trieste has opera; we have the young talent\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Not just theatre, not just a venue for performances, but a \u201cmediator\u201d, a place of \u2018mediation between business and culture, intended as a bridge to foster cross-fertilisation\u2019 \u2013 as researcher Daniele Marini summarises \u2013 \u2018and at the same time an agent of development, an entity that does not lead but knows how to bring together the forces of the local area and tell their story\u2019. The Verdi Theatre in Pordenone embodies this \u2018mediator\u2019 \u2013 \u2018in an era of transformation, we need new words\u2019, Marini adds \u2013 and is the subject of a study (by Marini and Fabio Marzella) commissioned by the Verdi Theatre from Community Media Research, in partnership with BCC Pordenonese and the Industrialists\u2019 Union. This qualitative study, based on interviews with 25 stakeholders, demonstrates how the economic and cultural spheres \u2013 as also attested by Pietro Roman of BCC and Michelangelo Agristi of Unindustria \u2013 have already embraced the challenge of identity that culture is called upon to address.<\/p>\n
