\nIn 2015, the year marking its tenth anniversary, the Friuli theatre has embarked on a comprehensive process of reflection to re-examine its mission: no longer merely a cultural venue, but a driving force for development, capable of integrating cultural activity with the more strictly economic and business spheres.
\nThe local community is calling for it. The times demand it. And this need emerges from a study presented in Pordenone on 1 December. The report, commissioned by the Teatro Verdi in partnership with BCC Pordenonese, Community Group and the Pordenone Industrialists\u2019 Union, and carried out by Community Media Research, had a twofold objective: to analyse the significance of theatre in the city\u2019s social and economic life, its level of importance, but also the sense of identity and belonging it fosters; to assess awareness of the relationship between the economy and culture, and of the role that theatre could play in the region\u2019s socio-economic development, and to help shape its strategies for the future.<\/p>\n
