The people of Veneto certainly see themselves as hard-working. But one in four also see themselves as being more interested in money than in culture. They are also never satisfied, and even selfish. Only one in ten people in this region believe that we are, above all, \u2018autonomist\u2019 in character. And far fewer still cite altruism and solidarity as a defining characteristic. Or even \u2013 and this is no less surprising, in what was once referred to as the \u2018sacristy of Italy\u2019 \u2013 being religious. In short: the people of Veneto and the north-east \u2018look in the mirror and the image reflected back is not unambiguous, with more shadows than light\u2019. This is how the Vicenza-based sociologist Daniele Marini summarises the findings on this aspect of the survey, which he oversaw as director of CMR-Community Media Research, in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo-Cassa di Risparmio Veneto.<\/p>\n
