Confindustria. Regional meeting on the theme: ‘Change’ – Treviso, the anti-bureaucracy network
Time spent each month on administrative tasks (0.8 per cent of working time if handled by the business owner, rising to 19.2 per cent if there is a dedicated department), waiting times for payments, fragmented regulations and differences between authorities and regions that hinder companies with multiple sites; as well as a lack of transparency, regulatory contradictions, excessive bureaucracy and difficulties in identifying who is responsible. Fewer than one in four business owners (38.2 per cent) believe that the public administration has improved; yet it is precisely an efficient public system that businesses look to in order to find a reliable, modern and efficient partner. This is the theme around which the Unindustria Treviso general meeting, scheduled for today in Lovadina di Spresiano, will revolve. A straightforward title – “Change” – to explore a possible new alliance “where, until now, there have been conflicts and misunderstandings,” explains President Maria Cristina Piovesana. “The time is right: businesses no longer operate in isolation, but are facing globalised markets and need the backing of a cohesive and strong system’. The basis for the discussion is the data collected and analysed by Community Media Research over almost a year’s work, which began with targeted questionnaires and continued with local meetings to gather accounts of problems and ideas reflecting a renewed desire for dialogue.
