Theatre and industry: a partnership that creates value

The aim is to create a corporate culture that puts industry back at the heart of the debate on regional development. To this end, there has been talk for years of training, education and mediation. And now, theatre too. How can theatre help to foster a corporate culture and, at the same time, make entrepreneurs aware of their own value and the regional significance of their manufacturing output? (…)

In order to rethink and revisit its mission from a business perspective, the Verdi Theatre in Pordenone has commissioned the Community Media Research Centre, led by Professor Daniele Marini of the University of Padua, to conduct a survey of local opinion leaders with a view to developing a new vision for the theatre. Three aspects have emerged from this survey that are considered essential: the theatre as a place of cross-fertilisation, where culture and the economy find common ground and engage in dialogue, exploring initiatives for intellectual and productive networks; the theatre as an intellectual entrepreneur, which must stimulate the creation of future scenarios, devising initiatives and opportunities for reflection and education on development prospects; the theatre as a cultural mediator, a role similar to that of an educator and guidance counsellor.
